Have an idea?
Let’s talk.
Not sure where to start? That’s okay — we’ll guide you.
Got a maybe?
We’ll help shape it.
What is our story to tell ?
Designmaybe is a design studio based in Budapest and Vienna, where architecture, interior design, and graphic design intersect.
Our name reflects how every project begins: with a maybe. A question, an idea, a spark of potential. That uncertainty is not a limitation—it’s an invitation to explore. Every project starts with a maybe and ends with a solution. From that starting point, we craft designs that are thoughtful, functional, and attuned to the people and contexts they serve.
We see architecture as a conversation between multiple perspectives: the client’s vision, the cultural and historical context, technical realities, and the everyday lives of those who experience the space. When these layers meet, new solutions emerge — ones that balance function and atmosphere, permanence and adaptability, imagination and reality.
Our approach is collaborative and integrative. We combine expertise in spatial design, visual communication, and technical execution, and work closely with partners across fields. This allows us to approach each project from many angles, moving fluidly between concept and detail, vision and realization.
designmaybe was founded by Csenge Lánszki, who studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Zaha Hadid and Greg Lynn. Over the years, she has worked across interior, architecture, and product design, as well as on 3D visionary projects for the Hollywood film industry. Licensed in both Austria and Hungary, Csenge gained experience leading projects and teams in several studios before establishing her own practice.
She has over a decade of experience, having worked in both Austria and Hungary, where she has overseen projects from concept through to realization—ranging from large-scale developments to small, detail-driven works. For her, every project, regardless of its scale, must be approached with the same depth of questioning and critical perspective.
Her focus is on uncovering the essence of each project—whether interpreting the identity of a corporate company or guiding private clients toward tailored, personal solutions. She sees architecture as a form of storytelling, one that should always reflect and elevate something unique and functional to those it serves, while also carrying traces of curiosity.
Our process
1. It starts with a conversation
You don’t need to have all the answers — just a few questions, goals, or ideas. Maybe it’s a feeling, a function, or a future vision. We listen carefully, ask the right questions, and help define the real potential behind your maybe.
We’re not here to impress. We’re here to understand — so we can build something meaningful, together.
2. We explore the possibilities
This is where ideas begin to take shape. Through sketches, materials, references, and dialogue, we test options and uncover connections — some expected, some surprising.
What if the corridor became a gallery? What if the terrace framed the landscape?
We don’t push solutions. We present possibilities.
3. Design moves into development
Once a direction is clear, we translate it into an architectural language — from spatial concepts to technical details. We coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure clarity and alignment across all phases.
Professional collaboration and clear communication are built into our process.
4. We stay with the project
From early approvals to execution on site, we remain involved — resolving challenges, refining details, and making sure the outcome reflects the original vision.
We believe good design isn’t just delivered. It’s stewarded.
And our work isn’t done until the space works — beautifully, intelligently, and for the long term.
